Chief Executive Officer

Mike Middleman is Chief Executive Officer of Archwell Capital, a private investment management company with businesses in financial services, real estate, technology and professional sports. Archwell Capital pairs patient investments with day-to-day operational expertise built on Middleman's own experience both transforming large organizations and incubating new ones, providing active capital to back category leaders and staying with them for the long run.

Middleman built his operating expertise through senior leadership roles at Freedom Mortgage and earlier in public accounting, leading large-scale operations and modernizing how organizations perform through data analytics, disciplined execution, and people-first leadership. At Archwell Capital, he applies this same playbook by pairing deep financial services expertise with scaled technology adoption to drive customer growth, retention, and enterprise value. He has earned a reputation for leading transformational change by bringing people and technology together around measurable business outcomes.

Middleman has built Archwell Capital into a diversified investment platform. It has held over 40 portfolio investments, its businesses serve hundreds of corporate clients, and they employ more than 10,000 people globally.

An experienced operator, investor and founder, Middleman understands what it's like to be at the ground floor of the businesses in which Archwell Capital incubates and invests — and what is necessary for them to grow. For over a decade, Middleman held a range of senior leadership roles at Freedom Mortgage Company, one of the nation's largest mortgage lenders and servicers, and where he remains Vice Chairman. He also co-founded and remains Executive Chairman of Archwell Capital's business intelligence firm, Moder, whose proprietary AI and operational support enables financial services companies to increase efficiency and reduce risk.

Family and community have always been important to Middleman, and giving back has been part of that throughout his life. He serves on several nonprofit boards and corporate councils, most of which are in the Philadelphia area.

Middleman holds two bachelor's degrees from Hofstra University, one in finance and one in accounting, earned concurrently. He also holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
